Lawn Care FAQ — Edmonton Homeowners' Most Common Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services, process, and what to expect.

How soon will I see results?

Most customers notice visible improvement within 7–14 days after the first treatment. You'll see weeds beginning to curl and discolor within the first week, while fertilizer results typically show within 2 weeks as grass color deepens.

Full results develop over 4–6 weeks as the fertilizer takes full effect and weeds are completely eliminated. For best results, we recommend completing the full seasonal program.

How many visits are included per season?

Most programs include five monthly visits from May/June through September. Here's the breakdown:

  • Essentials: 5 visits (fertilizer + weed control + free re-sprays if needed)
  • Premium: 6 visits (everything in Essentials + core aeration)
  • Ultimate: 7 visits (everything in Premium + soil enhancer)
Is this safe for kids and pets?

Ask Lush directly about product safety and re-entry guidance for kids and pets, especially if your household has specific concerns.

  • Follow any post-treatment instructions provided after service
  • Ask for product-specific guidance if you want exact re-entry timing
  • Share any concerns about pets, children, or sensitivities before treatment
What areas do you service?

We provide lawn care services throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas including:

  • Edmonton (all neighborhoods)
  • Sherwood Park / Strathcona County

  • Leduc

Not sure if we cover your area? Contact us — we likely do!

Do I need to be home during treatments?

No — most of our customers aren't home during service visits. We just need:

  • Access to your backyard (unlocked gate or provided combination)
  • Clear access to the front yard

We'll leave a service notification after each visit detailing what was done and any recommendations for your lawn.

What weeds do you treat?

Broadleaf weeds are fully covered in all our programs. This includes:

  • Dandelions
  • Creeping Charlie (Ground Ivy)
  • Canada Thistle
  • White Clover
  • Black Medick
  • Chickweed
  • And other common broadleaf weeds

Note: Wild grasses (quackgrass, foxtail, crabgrass) are different species and may require separate treatment. During your free assessment, we'll identify what's in your lawn and recommend the right approach.

What happens if it rains after a treatment?

Light rain is actually beneficial — it helps fertilizers and most weed control products penetrate the soil more effectively.

If weather conditions concern you after a treatment, contact Lush directly for guidance specific to your lawn and the service performed.

Do I need aeration and overseeding?

These services are optional and depend on your lawn's condition. Aeration can help with compacted soils, while overseeding is a simple add-on for thicker growth at $25 on any plan.

If you're not sure, contact Lush directly and they'll advise based on your lawn.

How do I pay for services?

You can either pay in advance for the season, or pay by the visit by saving a card on file.
